[edit] History
Cheshire TV was the combined idea of citizens of Keene, and the current Executive Director. They wanted to provide free local television to cable users in the area. Time Warner, along with the City of Keene and the towns of Swanzey and Marlborough, all helped in the creation of the station by providing the necessary funding and studio space.
[edit] Unfiltered with Rick Blood
Unfiltered with Rick Blood, or simply, Unfiltered, is one of Cheshire TV's longest-running shows. Though the show had a slow start, it eventually became very popular. The show is presented in talk show-like format. The host of the show is Rick Blood, a forty-something ex-hippie who is politically incorrect and proud of it. When the show first aired, its central theme was focused on Rick's political incorrectness and, above all, his bizarre point of views on society.
At first, the show wasn't very well known, but, by word of mouth, it soon became very popular. By episode ten, Rick was a local celebrity who even had several Myspace pages dedicated for him. However, Unfiltered was also a call-in show and, due to Rick's success, prank callers started to invade the phone lines. Typically, about 90% of an episode's calls would be pranks. Rick would usually ignore the calls and pretend like they never happened, but there were a few that made him lose his temper. One episode in particular a caller phoned in and made a comment about his daughter, sexually. This made Rick go on a verbal rampage claiming that the show was not for the viewers, but instead "for him". Rick decided to shut down the phone lines. This lasted for only a few episodes, he soon brought them back. Once he brought back the phone lines, the pranks were much more tame and less offensive. Though fewer pranks were being made, the phone lines were constantly running off the hook. Since so many people were calling in, he decided to extend the show from one hour to an hour and a half. However, the pranks came back, and this time they were much more vicious and offensive. Rick eventually got rid of the phone lines for good. The show is currently in hiatus.
