Cheryl Albrecht

Cheryl Albrecht is a judge in Multnomah County, Oregon (Oregon's 4th Judicial District.) She was elected in 2006 to Position 31 on the County's Circuit Court.

Albrech received her Bachelor's in Journalism from Louisiana State University. She was a newspaper reporter and editor covering courts, state and local government, investigative reports, and other news. She received her Law degree from Lewis & Clark College Law School. She spent ten years as trial attorney and law clerk handling a variety of cases. In the five years she spent as Judge Pro Tem, she presidedover jury trials, criminal cases, landlord/tenant trials, small claims disputes, stalking hearings, traffic court and many other cases.
Albrecht placed second among five candidates in the May, 2006 Primary Election, with about 20% of the vote. In a runoff in the November General Election, she beat prosecutor Kathleen Payne, by a margin of 54% to 45%.
