Cherukumilli is a village in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is known for rice paddies, and for being one of the major exporters of rice in India[citation needed]. It is in Bhimavaram Taluk.
Most of the villagers are moving to cities and towns like Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Bhimavaram and Akividu for jobs and business opportunities.[citation needed]

In the early 1980s a group of former residents settled in Hyderabad met in Panjagutta at D. Narasimha Raju residence where Rs. 25,000 to set up an organization that would help the residents of their native village.
The gathering unanimously elected D. Lakshmipathi Raju as its first President and M. Siva Rama Raju as its founder secretary. The first official meeting occurred at Dr. D.S. Raju's grape garden in Ayodya-Kandla Koyya. Since then the group meets regularly on every 26th January.
In the year 2001, with the inspiration and financial support of Smt. Savithri Amma, the association purchased a housing plot in Mayuri Nagar, Near Miyapur. The bylaws of the association stipulates that donations can only be accepted from blood relatives of the villagers. A building has been constructed on the plot for use by the association. A building committee was organized headed by:

Sri Rama Raju (Srihari Raju) Chair person of Gnyana Ashram and so many great personalities graced the inauguration ceremonies.
[edit] Kshatriya Welfare Association
The Cherukumilli Kshatriya Welfare Association in combination with the Hyderabad branch in August 26th 2007 started a new programme called "Ontari/Vruddulakoraku Bojana Vasathi Sadupayam". The scheme is funded by Hyderabad association and run and managed by Cherukumilli village association with the able guidance of M.V. Rama Krishna Raju, D. Subba Raju, D. Viswanatha Raju, G. Rama Krishna Raju, D. Rama Chandra Raju, D. Ranga Raju. and D. Appla Raju. the purpose of this scheme is to help the poorer residents of the village get healthy. twice daily vegetarian meals. Under this programme 18 people receive benefits.
- 8 Persons were under free meals scheme.
- 2 persons were under semi finance
- 8 under self finance scheme

This year on 26th January village getogether held under the President ship of Smt D. Krishna Veni garu. Members gathered in large number with families as usual. The function strted at 0900Hrs and went up to 1700Hrs. Games were conducted for all age groups, incluidng speed walk for above 65years age group. After conducting the meeting, as the three years term is completed the President Smt D. Krishna Veni offered for re election of the new committee. This year lunch sponsored by Smt &Sri D.Gopala Krishna Raju and Smt& Sri D.V.Suryanarayana Raju families.
After the lunch new office bearers were elected unanimously. Sri D.Krishna Murhty Raju as President, Smt M.Lakshmi Raju as Vice President, Sri M.Siva Rama Raju as Secretary for second consequtive term and Sri Bh. Peddi Raju also for second consequtive term as Treasurer. The following persons elected as organizing Secretaries.1) Sri D.Seshadri Raju, 2) Sri D.Ranaga Raju, 3) Sri M.Subba Raju (Vasu), 4) Sri M.Suryanarayana Raju(Sanghi) 5) Sri D.Sitarama Raju
The newly elected President in his opening remarks coneyed thanks for reposing confidence on the new committee and constituted a committee for over seeing the "Bojana Vasathi Sadupayam scheme" at Cherukumilli village as it is prestageous scheme and ours is the first village in AP to have such great visionary scheme to help the poor / needy aged persons. The committee will be headed by Dr. D.Stayanarayana Raju, Sri D.Managapati Raju, Sri M.Sivarama Raju & Sri Bh. Peddi Raju.
The General Body Felicitated Sri D.V.Suryanarayana Raju for his achievement in getting Doctorate in the field of Tourisam. He has taken numerous people to Great Himalayas and entire North. He is very knoweledgeble kind hearted & cool person like Great Himalyas. In reply to his felicitation he volunteed to participate in our association activities, and for the welfare of the mankind.
Ours is the only village association, which is having an own property with a Building, Address Book, meeting regularly for the last 20 years on every 26th January.
We are helping the poor & needy villagers till last year by giving old age pensions.
We are helping the needy & poor students by giving tuition fees since 1989. Also giving
We have the pleasure in helping the poor/old agers of our Village by feeding them at their homes.
