Chersky (Russian: Че́рский) is a settlement in the Sakha Republic, Russia, located on the Kolyma River, 1,920 km east of Yakutsk. It is the administrative center of Nizhnekolymsky Ulus. Population: 3,832 (2002 Census); 11,176 (1989 Census). It is named after Jan Czerski, a Polish geographist who organized several expeditions in the surrounding area in the 1880s. It is served by Chersky Airport.
