Cherry (band)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cherry was an Australian girlband in formed in 1998. The group consisted of Camielle, Gerii, Zoe, Hayley and Amy. They released three low charting singles during 1998 and 1999. The group's debut single was S.O.S followed up by a cover of the Transvision Vamp classic I Want Your Love. Shortly after that the group embarked on a club tour around Australia, mostly at gay venues. For their third single the group released a ballad called Saddest Song. The single peaked at #78 in the ARIA Australia Singles Chart and two of the girls, Amy and Zoe, became dishearted with the lack of the group's success. Camielle, Gerri and Hayley decided to continue as a three piece outfit and after lengthy discussions with their record label it was decided that they would re-record all the tracks that had been finished for their as yet released debut album "Sacred Kiss" that had been recorded with Amy and Zoe's vocals, and also re-release third single Saddest Song as a three piece. A new video was made for the song and even released to music television stations, but the single and album were cancelled last minute by the record label. The video can still be found today on You Tube. After the group disbanded Camielle released a relatively unsuccessful RnB solo single called Yadda Yadda Yadda which bombed on the charts. Gerii currently lives in London still attempting to crack the music industry. The where abouts of the other members of the group are unknown.
