Cherpulachery

Cherpulachery is a small and beautiful town in Palakkad District of Kerala state, south India. It has a holy Goddess temple (Puthanalkavu Bhagavathy ) and the Ayyapan kavu is well known. There is also the nearly 200 year-old Shivashetram with a very big temple water pond (Ambalakulam). Cherpulachery Sivan a famous drum player ("madhalam") was brought up in the town.Kalamandalam Gopalakrishnan was also hailed by here.He died on 27.2.2008 at his 58th age.
