Cherche-Midi prison

The Cherche-Midi prison was a prison in Paris, France, that has been closed down and the builing destroyed (École des hautes études en sciences sociales building is standing there now). Famous detainees at the prison include Adolphe Feder, Kurt Gerstein, Henri Honoré d'Estienne d'Orves and Alfred Dreyfus. It has been used as a political prison by Germans during the occupation of France from 1940 to 1944. In this prison executions were carried out.
