Chen Tao (Chinese:陈涛)(born on March 11, 1985) is a Chinese footballer who is a midfielder for Changsha Ginde. He is a member of the China national football team.
Chen is also the captain of the Chinese Olympic national football team. He is currently involved in a transfer saga with his club, Changsha Ginde. He has made an announcement that if he fails to secure a transfer to FC Luch-Energiya Vladivostok, then he would retire from football and the Chinese national team.
FC Luch-Energiya Vladivostok announced that they had agreed a price with Changsha Ginde and agreed personal terms with the player, but the transfer papers from Ginde failed to materialize, therefore the transfer has fallen through.
