Chen Chong Swee

Chen Chong Swee was born 1910 in Chenghai, Guangdong, China;He settled in Singapore in 1931 after graduating from Xinhua Arts Academy, Shanghai, China. He co-founded Salon Art Society in 1935. He died 1985 in Singapore was a Singaporean artist, teacher and writer. He had major influence in the development of Singapore art. Chen was also one of the Singapore Watercolour Society founding members.
