Chemin de fer Châtel-St-Denis-Bulle-Montbovon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Chemin de fer Châtel-St-Denis-Bulle-Montbovon (CBM) was the name of a company that planned a metre gauge railway to run between the towns suggested by its title. The line was constructed and opened in four stages: Châtel-St-Denis to Vuadens, Vuadens to Bulle, Bulle to La Tour-de-Trême and from there to Montbovon being completed in 1904. At Châtel-St-Denis it formed an end-on junction with the already opened Chemin de fer Châtel-St-Denis-Palézieux. Before the first bit opened the company was renamed Chemins de fer électriques de la Gruyère.
