Cheltenham Racecourse railway station is a railway station on the Outer Harbor railway line which is located in the northwestern Adelaide suburb of Cheltenham. The station probably opened between 1890 to 1910, and is located 8.7km by railway from the Adelaide Railway Station. It serves the Cheltenham Park Racecourse and only operates during a raceday. In February 2009, the nearby Cheltenham Park Racecourse will close to make way for new housing developments. After the racecourse closes, the future of the station will become rather uncertain, although a new station could be built east of the level crossing for those that will live in the new houses.
