Chelsea High School's main rival is currently Shelby County High School located in Columbiana, AL, also the Briarwood Lions, located on highway 119. Chelsea High School athletics was moved up in 2006 from a class 4A to a class 5A school. The school is very impressed with head footbal coach Wade Waldrop's coaching abilities and "sharp as a tack" coaching staff. Jason Hill is the defensive coordinator for the Chelsea Fighting Hornets, and his performance ha been superior since he took the job. In the last two years Chelsea has ended an almost two decade losing streak to the Briarwood Lions, and also a nine year losing streak to the Shelby County Wildcats.

[edit] Alma Mater

Verse 1
Alma Mater, we will leave you
But we'll ne'er forget
All your love and care for us
'Til our life's sunset
Chorus
Chelsea High Alma Mater
Loud our voices raise.
Chelsea High School
We still love you
Unto you our Praise,
Verse 2
As we sadly start our journeys
We will have to part
But we'll always have sweet memories
Deep within our hearts
