Chelmondiston is a small village and civil parish in Suffolk, England, on the south bank of the River Orwell, and to the east of Ipswich.
Next to Chelmondiston is the hamlet (place) of Pin Mill, home of the famous Butt & Oyster pub.
Chelmondiston Parish Council is the first tier of a three tier system of local government, with Babergh District Council, and Suffolk County Council being the next two tiers, all elected by people in the area.
