CheeseTracker is an Impulse Tracker clone created by Juan Linietsky (who is also known as Reduz). It is licensed under the GNU General Public License and runs under Linux and Mac OS X.

Since version 0.8 it makes use of the Qt graphical toolkit. It has a JACK Audio Connection Kit driver, thus its sound can be easily routed into other audio software. It is possible to route the instruments through internal and external LADSPA effects.

Version 0.9.1 can be found on two LiveCDs, dyne:bolic and AGNULA's LiveCD.

Linietsky announced that he was "no longer able to work on CheeseTracker"[1] and released his last version (0.9.9) in April 23, 2004.

In 2007, J. Phelps continued with the development and he's released unofficial versions of CheeseTracker dubbed up to "Unofficial Release 0.9.12", which fixes several bugs. With help from J. Martín, his work was moved to Cheesetracker Sourceforge project, where maintenance and positive development continues today.
