"Cheer Up, Boys (Your Make Up Is Running)" is the third single released from the Foo Fighters' 2007 album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. The single was released as a digital-only release in the UK via iTunes.[1]. The B-side is a cover of Paul McCartney & Wings' "Band on the Run", which was previously released on Radio 1 Established 1967.[2]

A CD edition of the single was solicited via several UK websites, including HMV and Amazon.co.uk, but was not released.

The song has had wide radio play in Australia, yet there has been no release date for the single.

The name of the track has caused much controversy, because it is believed to refer to homosexuality. However, the Foo Fighters' public relations manager has made several statements insisting that there is no offense meant in the title of the song. Rather, it has become clear the name pokes fun at the male members of stereotypical Emo bands. Dave Grohl confirmed this at a concert in Sydney, Australia in May, 2008, stating that this song is about "New bands wearing makeup, and we're just not into that whole emo thing."[citation needed]
