Welcome!

Hello, Charles Merriam, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Since this is a wiki, you are certainly free to update the George Madeira article without consulting me, but it was very thoughtful of you to let me know. Offline resources are perfectly valid, but what you're describing sounds to me like original research. If your father has been doing research on Madeira, he needs to get it published somewhere, at which you point you can cite it here. Wikipedia is NOT the place to be writing that. Using Madeira's newspaper articles as source material is valid for writing articles about the same topics he did. What you need to do is to cite online/offline references about Madeira himself. I hope I've made that distinction clear. Please read some of the links I've provided above to learn about our policies and guidelines. Good luck and happy editing! howcheng {chat} 07:16, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

For this edit which finally resolved the discrepency between what intuitively should be an Application Server and what is actually being called an Application Server. Timhowardriley (talk) 02:20, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
