[edit] Map of Europa Island

Excellent map! Do you have comparable maps of the other Îles Éparses?Ratzer 23:20, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

I reloaded the Sat Image with high resolution and tried to orient it north by eyeballing in comparison with different outline maps. I think you just turned the original image 180 degrees and made the map from it. To my best estimate, north is up when the image is turned 208 degrees clockwise. I uploaded the turned image to commons and referenced it from the Europa Island article. Perhaps you can turn your map 28 degrees more clockwise such that north is up, or place an arrow that points 28 degrees to the left.Ratzer 11:07, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
If one day you like to do a German-language version of the map, here are the translations:
  • Mozambique Channel = Kanal von Mosambik
  • former settlement = frühere Siedlung
  • garrison = Garnison
  • meteorological station = Meteorologische Station
  • reef = Riff
  • lagoon = Lagune
  • sand = Sand
  • bushes = Gebüsch
  • mangrove = Mangroven
  • marsh = Sumpf
  • steppe= Steppe
  • forest = Wald
  • sisal = Sisal
  • ponds = Teiche --Ratzer 21:01, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] decreolisation
