Chava is actually close to my Hebrew name...which is "Chaya". However, lol...always liked Chava, even tho it means "Eva" and my name is Carol. I've used it online since my days as President of a non-profit org for Hepatitis C...and it just stuck as a "username".
Right now I have a non-profit support organization/website for "Medically Assisted Treatment".... those addicted or dependent on opiates for any reason....from substance abuse to chronic pain. We are the official resource for Methadone Anonymous support....have a very busy community of support forums.....an expert on-site......the foremost authority on pregnancy/methadone....and so much more. We are a member of CSAT's PSCEP group now as well.
Here's just a few support resources available at our org/website.....
One of our more popular resources is our busy community of Support Forums. Patients and providers will find lots of good info.....interact with people going thru the same things that they are.....and get some much needed support. There's about 13 different forums.....something for everyone. Once one registers, they can post in any of them.
We also have "Dr. Marc"......a PhD in Clinical Psychology that has worked with methadone patients for over 30 years. He is currently the director of 4 clinics and takes time out of his crazy/busy schedule to answer questions at the website.
And then there's our Support Chatroom . We TRY to have people cover it all the time.....and have regular meetings Mon thru Fri from 6:00pm to 7:00pm EST. That being said.....there are times when you will not find anyone there.....but we are growing all the time.
I can't leave out our Methadone Pregnancy Info and Support page, that I mentioned previously. It is probably one of our most important resources. We are soooo fortunate to have Sharon Dembinski with organization. Sharon is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Certified Methadone Advocate and Lead Developer of the Program "Mother's on Methadone" (MOM) at Kent Hospital in Rhode Island. She also has a wonderful forum there as well.
Our Methadone info/news page is chocked full of great links, articles etc. I won't try to list everything, lol....please start at our homepage and have a look around....click on the many things in our "blog" as well as the main menu.
On a more personal note, I am a single mother ....had my one and only child when I was 40 and she's 11 now. That makes ME an old fart! I am a methadone patient myself, was in a methadone clinic setting for about 15 years and am currently in pain mgt. I have worked in the Hepatitis C and Substance Abuse communities for the past 10 years. My life is very full as I take care of both of parents that are very ill. I do not get paid for what I do with MSO (Methadone Support Org)...I have devoted my life to try and help people.
