Who am I?

Some people have asked me who I am. For those of you that don't know me here is a brief summary.

My name is Carlos Herrera. I was born January 29, 1970 in El Triunfo de San Miguel, Michoacan. I am the oldest of four children my parents have. I have a younger brother and two younger sisters. At around the age of 5 my parents decided to bring me to the United States, therefore I have very few memories of El Triunfo as a child. My first trip back to El Triunfo was around the year 1998, when I went with a frien of mine named Rudy Heredia, also known as "Nitos". From that moment on I have made it a point to visit my grandparents and all the wonderful people of El Triunfo. At first I didn't know many people and since I tend to be a bit on the shy side i rarely spoke to anyone on my visits. Some people say they remember me from when I was a little child in my mothers arms, and that when I was a bit older I used to love to sing along with my little guitar. According to them I used to sing "Volver, Volver" and "El Rey." (Even though I don't remember this, those two songs remain two of my all time favorites). Through the years however, I have had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting many great and wonderful people. This is one of the reasons why I decided to make these pages in honor of El Triunfo. So that all the people descendent of El Triunfo, and the whole world would have the opportunity to get to know the place where I was born.
