Contents

[edit] Personal sites

Recently registered and yet it has gone straight to number one on my usage list! More up-to-date stuff here.
My YouTube contains all the videos I made so far.

[edit] Semi-active

My now main MySpace site for my musical activities, etc. Not much acrtivity since Facebook.
My first website; previously known as Charlie Huang's Da Zheng Huang Fu. Has gone through a lot of editing. Contains most of my artwork (newer ones are in my Livejournal), novels, old guqin compositions (unedited versions), etc. I've mostly abandoned it as it is so much a bother to load the editing program. I may return to it in future to update certain things.
Gallery of my artworks and pictures.
Most up-to-date on my literature, poems, videos and essays.

[edit] Inactive

Old blog I use to use. Very few entries in it, but just as an archive.
Old site I used to upload mp3s of my qin recordings. No longer used, but there is one recording that remains, which is my composition Qiangpao Wushe. Quality not as good as my current ones.

[edit] Favourite sites

Other favourite sites are filed in the external links section of the guqin article.

[edit] Music

The site of my friend, Cheng Yu. Often go here to check up on latest news on music.
I love Mr Lakeman's music. This is his official site.
I go here sometimes to find out about the Chinese Music Summer School held at the Royal Academy of Music every July/August. If you want to learn guqin, pipa, erhu or dizi, then I will strongly advise you to attend if you are in the UK at the time. Especially for guqin as they sponsor a master qin player to come teach qin every year (so far, we've had Gong Yi, Li Xiangting and Zeng Chengwei).

[edit] Forums

A forum I created for Chinese music. It is very strictly traditional Chinese music discussion. I try to avoid intrigues and it is modelled on the Derren Brown forum with no heavy moderation.
Newly created forum for the fans of Mr Lakeman. I'm currently on a break from it, but will return.
Often go here to read posts about academic dress and look at pics.

[edit] Societies

One of my interests are in academic dress and this society promotes it. I just love the design and use of it, I wonder why people don't wear it often since it is like wearing an Emperor's outfit for some!
I am a Fellow of this music society.
My qin society that awards fellowships and academic dress.
I have a special interest in Hanfu or Chinese Han clothing, which is the 'proper' clothing of the Chinese Han people. The stuff you see worn today are actually Manchurian in origin. I find Hanfu very elegant and appealing. There is a modern movement by the youths in China and around the world who want Hanfu to become the offical national dress of China, much like the kimono is to Japan and the hanbok is to Korea.

[edit] Misc.

Wonderful site full of historical video recordings of rare music from various cultures. Of particular interest is the Korean section with its Aak (Korean Court Music).
Love this bookstore site. Has loads of Chinese books that you will probably have trouble getting hold of in the west, dealing in rare and second-hand books. Good enough to just browse and explore the wonderfully written descriptions of most of the better illustrated books.
If you haven't figured it out just yet, I ♥ the film very much! It just moves me so much to the point of tears! Ang Lee has won my appraisal and respect.
Online store that sells academic dress of Oxford University. Has a variety of pics.
Online store selling facsimile period shirts and starched detachable collars.
online store selling academic and legal dress.

[edit] Sites I no longer used

I use to like Derren Brown very much, but nowadays I only go on the forum for a chat with friends I made many years ago on there. It is a 'free' forum, with not much moderation. I now go on very rarely since there have been rather negative issues happening on it as of Oct 2006, and it seems to have imploded now...
A forum created by the fans of Derren Brown, who after getting tired of the state of the official one, decided to create a more freer one (without intrigues). The main forum that I used to frequent. However, as part of my metamorphosis, I have decided to withdraw my forumship and close that chapter in my book after over 6 years.
Find out about the courses I intended to do for this diploma. I have now abandoned this course of study.
Initially, only a formality so I can post a comment to Mr Lakeman, but I have expanded it more and more. I haven't done much with it since moving to Facebook. It is now redudant and I want to delete it but I can't because I can't access my old e-mail account and MySpace seems to be ignoring my e-mails in regards to doing anything to it... I have deleted all the content and now it is a blank shell with a note.
With the Fan Forum broken, this is the emergency retreat. I initially left it then I returned for about a month before leaving again.
Information on the Master of Music degree that I wished to take at SOAS in the future, but can't because of funding and qualification problems... I may try again in the future.
Information on the Master of Arts and other degrees that I plan to do in the near future, hopefully...
