[edit] History

  • Can please somebody clarify the following statement:
and the flea market was then relocated to Saranrom Palace and settled there for 8 years. After that, it was moved again to Sanam Chai.
IMHO is "at Saranrom Palace" and "to Sanam Chai" the same location, as the Saranrom Palace lies directly at Thanon Sanam Chai. The only possibility to house such a big market is the (about 50m wide) area between the western fence of Saranrom Park and the edge oft Thanon Sanam Chai. Today it is a kind of shady park with lots of trees. So where exactly and when was the park relocated?
  • As far as I can remember, at my first visit in Bangkok in 1978 the market on Sanam Luang was not called "Sanam Luang flea Market" as stated in this article but "The Weeekend Market" or "Sanam Luang Weeekend Market".
