[edit] This is a lie
I happen to be an administrator of a ChatSpace based-IRC chat server and I can tell you first-hand that it's far from a leader in terms of servers that use it. In fact it's quite the opposite. Very few servers run on ChatSpace these days. A large majority favor some version or another of UnrealIRC (I just checked at SearchIRC.org and totaled it at over 1560) vs maybe a half dozen or so ChatSpace servers. One of the few remaining ChatSpace servers became defunct last year to boot. It's quite definitely an advertisement, which is predicated on a lie, like so many other advertisements out there, especially since it has no citations. Those that do run on it don't have the greatest number of users. The reason for its declining popularity was that the Akiva corporation that owns and distributes it intended for it to be a business-oriented Chat Client and it's used by ordinary chatters and the more IRC-knowledgable Chat administrators prefer other platforms with more features and simpler designs and mIRC compatability. As far as CNN and other major companies using it, it's possible at some time in the past they did but I don't believe it's still the case. There you have it. First-hand facts about ChatSpace. As far as the text of the article goes, I'm inclined to rewrite it myself but by default it wouldn't really be NPOV given that I have an unfair bias towards it. I'll flag it though for being written like an advertisement.
