[edit] Merge to Chastity belt

It seems as though the concept of a "chastity cage," while not necessarily a "chastity belt" per-se, accomplishes the same thing. I'm not an expert in the area, however judging by some of the pictures on Chastity belt and the shared features, the purpose (in modern terms) is to primarily prevent orgasm of one or multiple parties. It seems to me that Chastity cage fits that description, but is primarily intended for males. So, it seems that more beef could be added to Chastity belt by condensing Chastity cage, which is poorly-sourced and lacks historical context, and adding it into Chastity belt, which is both much better-sourced and has a decent amount of historical context. Lemme know what you think. --slakrtalk / 05:17, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Tag removed as no discussion has taken place since mrge suggestion made. 86.157.139.140 (talk) 18:15, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Well actually there was a discussion, in Talk:Chastity belt#Merge from Chastity cage. Slakr for some reason started the discussion in both articles' talk pages, so I don't blame 86.157.139.140 for removing the tag. I am not putting it back since I personally don't agree with the merge, but I thought I'd clarify this issue here for future reference. Waldir talk 21:28, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
I do not agree with the merge. In fact, I have created a redirect from "Male chastity" to "Chastity cage" as well. Male chastity has nothing whatsoever to do with Chastity belts (The female kind). GrahamDo (talk) 15:44, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] This reads like an advertisement

This reads like an advertisement for a specific product line. There are other chastity cage products on the market. Ecoleetage (talk) 18:35, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Good point - but I don't know of any. Feel free to add them, then! :-) GrahamDo (talk) 10:02, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

There are many products but that's beside the point. I don't understand why chastity (as a concept) is necessarily redirected to chastity belts (as a form of enforcement) - play elements particularly tend to remove this from the actual idea of chastity, which can of course be voluntary, as in many religious systems where it is a given that chastity should be practised before marriage. So not a controversial issue per se, just not sure why the redirect?
