Talk:Chartered accountancy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] What is this article for?

This article simply repeats the list of professional bodies in the Chartered Accountant article. The fact that the two lists differ simply serves to show that having two parallel articles is bad. How can we justify an encyclopedia that has contradictory articles?

Further, the first sentence is - I think - untrue -

"Chartered accountancy is a distinct profession of accountancy"

Is it? I don't believe it is. Accountancy is the profession. 'Chartered' is the designation some accountants have. If you looked at a chartered accountant and any other kind of accountant you would not see a difference in what they do.

I think this article should redirect to Chartered Accountant as it is redundant. AnthonyUK (talk) 10:36, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
