Charminar is built purely with Lime-Mortar and no granite has been used.

Mecca Masjid that is across the street from Charminar was build purely with Granite and Lime-Mortar was used. It used the Ball-and-socket design to interlock the huge granties into place. Mecca Masjid is also a popular place of worrship, originally started by Quil Qutub Shah and completed by Emperor Aurangazeb. It is also rumored that Emperor Aurgazeb gave the black granite stone that is placed before the water pool, and is belived that who ever sits on the stone will return to that place. Mecca Amsjid is also the final resting place for the Nizam's of Hyderabad (Of Asaf Jah Dynasty)
