"1,000 runs before the month of May"... ==
My non-Wikipedian colleague Tim advises me that this reference may be wrong, and it seems to be supported by this reference from the Glenn Turner article:
"Turner is one of only two players (the other being Graeme Hick) since the Second World War to have scored 1000 first-class runs before the end of May, a feat he achieved in 1973. Among the eight batsmen who have done this, Turner is one of the two who did it while playing for a touring team."
(Emphasis added.)
I don't have time to check all sources and correct this now, but perhaps somebody else could investigate in the meantime? Cheers - Hassocks5489 14:17, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- It is correct the way it is written now - "In 1928, Hallows scored more than 1,000 runs IN the month of May, a feat previously achieved only by W. G. Grace and Walter Hammond and never since." - eight have scored 1000 before the end of May, but all except these three scored some of their runs in April. Hallows started with a 100 on May 5 and hit 232 on May 31. I'll add an emphasis on "in" in the article. Tintin (talk) 06:29, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

- Many thanks for clarifying that. I'll let my colleague know! Regards, Hassocks5489 21:03, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
