"Rags and Ragtime" by Jasen and Tichenor lists 21 Sep 1940 as death date. The various web sites I consulted list the 21st, the 23rd, and the 24th. Does anyone know for sure?

I have a newspaper article from a local paper covering the story which states his death was 'Sunday evening'. The paper is dated Thursday 26th and reports he was buried the previous morning, so 'Sunday evening' must have been Sunday 22nd September. Have edited article to reflect.
