Should we always have to say "well-known" or "famous"? It is a moot point whether too many people have ever heard of him! Peter Shearan 10:11, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

I agree that's likey POV and should be removed.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  13:42, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Death be not proud, but be documented

I have a personal picture of Chuck Tilly, and a nice one -- from his mid-career. It may need a little touching up, in terms of fade (it's been up on my office wall near a window). Alas, I am on the road lots now, but it should get done within a month. Sorry, it can't be sooner. I will also post memorial info here, when I learn of it.Bellagio99 (talk) 12:32, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

That would be much appreciated.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 16:45, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

The current WP bio gives a link to Tilly's Columbia university page for a list of his publns. But there is no security that the page will last for more than a few months or years. Therefore, I am suggesting that if somebody/ies have the time, the list of publications be put in a separate location, perhaps a Wikipedia sub page, or else a more permanent page that it could be linked to. Alas, I don't have the time, but it would be a fitting memorial by current or recent students. Bellagio99 (talk) 20:59, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Suggested Changes to Academic Work

The next person to add significant content to Academic Work should rewrite the section to include subsections. This might be me, of course.... Regardless, I think we're looking at, at the very least, sections on State Formation, Methodology, Social Movements, Contentious Politics, Collective Action, Identities, and Democracy and Democratization. It might also make sense to add a subsection explaining the evolution of Tilly's work. Dhnexon (talk) 02:49, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
