"(although the Baron le Despencer is also Viscount Falmouth, so the Baron Mowbray is ranked second in the list of English barons)."

The removed section has no place in the into para. If its realyl felt to be needed add it as a note at the footer Alci12 16:50, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Fair enough. I thought I ought to add something about precedence at the beginning, as The Daily Telegraph claims that he was the "premier baron of England". I am struggling to think why it should say that. -- ALoan (Talk)
It always strikes me technical matters like that tend to work against giving a punchy clear and concise intro paras about who people are. As to the issue perhaps the intro could remove "Baron Mowbray is the third most senior barony in the Peerage of England, after the Baron de Ros and Baron le Despencer." as well and replace with something like 'sometime Premier Baron of England'. We can use a later paragraph - perhaps by the succession in '65 to explain that he was the Premier Baron of England (technically 'on the roll') from 1965-83 (as his father had been from 58-65, during which time the senior de ros barony was held by a female and the D'spen subsumed. It seems a bit rough to discount Georgiana Maxwell, 27th Baroness de Ros, simply because she was female. -- ALoan (Talk) 19:10, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
That's the way it is, the premier baron is the male peer holding the most senior title. Alci12 21:55, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
