I deleted references to this individual in the Earl of Buckingham article per WP:BLP since the article only cited this article. References would have to be added to that article which clearly support each potentially libelous statement. Edison 20:18, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Charles Stopford

I can relate to this a lot, at least the story on him. Charles is my uncle, my mother(Amy Stopford, currently deceased as of 4-15-08) was married to his brother, Wesley Stopford. I was at the airport waiting for him, and I remember being surrounded by the damn reporters. After quite some time, one of my aunts got a phone call and we all left. He took an alternate route off of the plane and one of my uncles picked him up. I remember being bored at the hotel while the family got to visit with their long lost brother. He told everyone that while he was over in Europe pretending to be someone else, he got into a rather bad car accident and suffered from amnesia. That, he said, made him believe he was really who he was pretending to be. He came home and lived with us at his moms house for a while, he bought and set up a good computer, all that jazz. He really was very smart, every time I spoke with him he had something witty or intelligent to say. All the time he was calling people he knew over seas, always busy trying to get back. Everyone was glad he was back, but anyone with a brain could tell he missed it in Switzerland. My mom told me he had a lot of money and a new wife or a girlfriend or something. Apparently he had a nice home and a nice life. So yeah, when he left a lot of people were sad and stuff, but it was for the best.

Idk why I just wrote this, I was just looking up articles on him and was surprised to find one in Wikipedia. The story is very true, down to the last word. I even remember meeting his other family, his children were much older than me, and I was 16 at the time. I guess I just want to get this point across; This man is brilliant, one of the smartest people I've had the chance to come across. He impersonated British royalty and pulled it off for many years. This is in no way a bad man, but a man to be admired.

er... sorry...suppose I'm just bored.
