Charles Martel was not the son of Charles II and Maris of Hungary. He was the son of Pepin II and his concubine, either Alpaide, Alpais, or Elphide (Chalpaida).

This listing is in error.

The foregoing comment was apparently due to a confusion between this person and Charles Martel of France. There are now separate articles for the two personages. Ellsworth 14:54, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
