[edit] copyvio

This looks very like a copyvio from some journalistic source, which needs not so much cleanup as rewriting. Unfortunately the editor who produced it has been inactive for about 18 months, but if Fabi87 is reading this it would be good to have some idea of the source of the text. It is indeed a copyvio, from this source: [1]. Without any sign that permission has been given for us to use this article, it will have to be removed. Terraxos (talk) 22:05, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
As a slightly depressing note: this article was around for 18 months before anyone noticed the copyvio, and another 5 months before any of us did something about it... in future, if you think an article violates copyright, you should probably report it on Wikipedia:Copyright problems rather than just leaving a comment for someone else to find. Terraxos (talk) 22:17, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Anyway, I see an admin has now removed the copyright violating information and reduced this article to a stub, so problem solved. Terraxos (talk) 23:41, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Temperature conversion

A user called Bart Versieck keeps on changing the temperature conversion of -40 Celsius to -104 Fahrenheit, which is wrong. I've changed it back. -40C = -40F (it's the only temperature that is the same in both scales). Please, stop adding this error! 143.252.80.100 13:06, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Is it honestly? Extremely sexy 17:54, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
°F = (°C × 1.8) + 32 --> °F = (-40 x 1.8) + 32 = -72 + 32 = -40. Seems that the above comment is correct. Cheers, CP 18:08, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability

I'd like some clarification on why this person is "clearly notable". The article says nothing beyond the fact that the man was a soldier in World War I. There were millions of those. Why is this one any different? -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 21:31, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Is it because he served in two armies? That wasn't in the text so I added it. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal, especially in WWII. Thousands (more?) of French, Polish, Russian troops were forced into the German army. He served in the German army in WWI, then moved to France and served in the French army over 20 years later. Then back to the German army because he had to. I'm not impressed. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 21:50, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
That article that is completely about him grants him enough notability in my book, and clearly enough to survive speedy. Send to AfD if you'd like. seresin | wasn't he just...? 21:53, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
I will put it to AfD. If it survives, then maybe it will get some more attention. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 23:27, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
