Doing general cleanup on all the Arbuthnots. Non-notable information removed from the article:

  • Baptised Lisbon.
  • Married, 14 August 1833, Hon Charlotte Eliza Vivian.

Question: would this guy not have served in the Crimea? He would have been the right age (about 53), almost certainly a general by then. But of course not all units served in the war. Herostratus 18:02, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Military service

I was writing a long reply about where he served, but seem to have lost it.

It would be interesting to compare the place where his regiments are recorded as serving, and where he was. For example, did he go to the Ionian Islands, or Ireland, or South Africa, or Ceylon? (regiments he served with did during his periods with them). I could add sources and links, but I would need to find them all again. Good places to start are our articles on the regiments, and http://www.regiments.org/ -- ALoan (Talk) 20:32, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
