[edit] Spoilers

This should have a big fat notice upfront "Warning, Spoilers!" - it gives away a lot if you haven't played the entire game, but intend to. ---- TheRealFoo —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.63.100.13 (talk)

From Wikipedia:Spoiler#When not to use spoiler warnings: ‘Spoiler warnings are redundant when used in "Plot", "Character history", "Synopsis", or other sections that are self-evidently going to discuss a plot’ and ‘Articles about fictional characters, objects, or places can be expected to include significant elements of the story. They should not typically need spoiler warnings.’ —LOL 11:22, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Just to expand upon LOL's comment, basically Wikipedia has outlawed spoiler warnings in all but the most rare of circumstances. Personally I wish they hadn't done that as I recently had the ending of season 3 of Doctor Who (yet to be aired in Canada) spoiled for me in an article that discussed the show. A spoiler warning would have been appreciated. But the powers that be have spoken, so that gives us free reign to spoil to our heart's content. Not even Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows has a spoiler warning. 23skidoo 01:02, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] LaCroix's fangs

According to the Masquerade lore, a vampire can retract his fangs to look like a normal human (which LaCroix probably does). I'll post the appropriate paragraph of the Rulebook as soon as I get hold of it.195.164.48.92 13:40, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

And as soon as you find it. The indexing in the manuals is dreadful, often leaving the player to thumb through the entire book. I just did, and couldn't find anything regarding fangs (though I do know they retract). I just mailed a couple of friends who know the game much better than I, in hopes of finding the reference. -FeralDruid 17:11, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Ugh, it's hard to find anything this specific in the books. I can't find any reference to the teeth retracting in the 3rd edition book, or in Requiem (it may be there, but just isn't obvious). In the 2nd edition book, in the Anatomia Vampirica section of the letter from V.T. to W.H., is the following...
"The gross physical changes are a matter of common knowledge, so much so that we have allowed them to remain in popular fiction. The canine teeth are indeed long and pointed, the better to draw blood. However, they are only fully extended at the time of the kill, being at other times withdrawn into their sockets by the contraction of a flexible tissue at their base. Both speech and secrecy would be most difficult otherwise. Some lack the means to withdraw their teeth, but they are easily discovered and are a dying clan."
Note this is relayed from a friend (I can't find my 2nd edition book -- he typed this up from his copy and mailed it to me). -FeralDruid 19:34, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deb's mystery caller

I just listened to the sound files of Andrei, Caine and Deb (radio_loop_2, time interval 1:18). While Andrei and Caine sound very much alike, it does sound like Andrei on the radio. -FeralDruid 00:15, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sticky Light?

Anyone know who this is? This account shows no prior edits, yet has removed massive amounts of content from the Bloodlines article, while proposing this one for deletion. -FeralDruid (talk) 20:09, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rebuttal of deletion proposal:

Hi all,

For the avoidance of doubt, I am the one who edited this article with IP address 217.146.126.160. I did not have an account then: it was my first, casual copy-edit. From now on, I shall act under this account.

Game-guide-ish

I find it hard to see how anyone could see this article as in conflict with WP:NOT#GUIDE, or for that matter use it as a game guide. Any such charge needs to be substantiated.

WP:TRIV

I do not see how WP:TRIV pertains, because the material presented is not in any sense a "trivia" section, nor is it "a collection of miscellaneous facts": it is on the contrary an organized and methodical description of each character that appears in the game VtM:B.

WP:L

I simply do not see how WP:L gives grounds for deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CodeWrangler (talk • contribs) 03:55, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

I've copied the info here over to StrategyWiki:Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines/Characters. Any of the info that is too in-universe can be removed from here if necessary since a copy is over there. -- Prod (Talk) 17:18, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Newscaster's Room

I just removed the edit explaining how to use a cheat to get into the newscaster's room. I don't feel this is relevant to the article, as the article is a description of the characters in the game, not a game guide. -FeralDruid (talk) 09:33, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Jeanette and Therese Voerman

Can anyone explain about that bit? If Jeanette is just a personality concocted by Therese, then why would she 'see' her father mistook Jeanette of her? That should be before she became a vampire, shouldn't it? So she wouldn't have had seen delused vision as Malkavians do? Or is Jeanette some how 'merged' with Therese after she embraced her, then they actually were different person before that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kklc1990 (talkcontribs) 03:30, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pisha's Clan

Actually, Pisha's clan is identified as Nagaraja in-game, but only if you fight her. In that case, her health bar (at the top of the screen as for the other boss enemies) is titled "Pisha the Nagaraja". On that basis the edit of 06:47, 26 February 2008 can, I think, be reinstated. CodeWrangler (talk) 03:25, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Citing Sources

This article has in the past been criticised for not citing sources. Citing sources for this article is problematic, as the source is nearly always in-game content. Is there a standard way of citing in-game content for an RPG such as this? (I've looked in the Wikipedia guidelines such as WP:CS without success.) If so, please advise and I'll try to do what I can. CodeWrangler (talk) 03:25, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Missing characters

Why there is no information about Ming Xiao and Andrei? They both play major roles in game's plot.85.249.167.223 (talk) 21:39, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

I've added the part about Andrei and will add Ming Xiao later. But I noticed there are still a few important characters like Beckett missing from the section. Could someone who has information on him add his part in? J.S.Lucindy (talk) 03:22, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Also the Giovanni characters and events are entirely missed out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.74.194.214 (talk) 13:05, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
