[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Coram.jpg
Image:Coram.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Lyra links
Some of the links to Lyra lead to the article on the constellation instead of the fictional character.

[edit] Lake Enare
I think the lake's name in Real Life is "Enare" in Swedish. I forget how Pullman spelled it, but he might have been unaware that the Finns spell it as "Inari". --Alvestrand 00:30, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Book vs. Movie
I feel that this article should be about the characters of the book, since the first movie has already strayed extensively from the book. If this article is about the characters of the book, I feel it should not have pictures of the characters from the movie. Triacylglyceride (talk) 02:20, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- I like the pix, but agree completely. They should be used in the film's article, if anywhere. Anthony Krupp (talk) 06:24, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] I hate Anonymous...
Some one messed up the article, but thanks to copy and paste I fixed it for you. Bloody vandals... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaos Machina (talk • contribs) 19:30, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Main vs. other characters
It strikes me as odd that the outlines for the "main" characters are quite short compared to those for the "other"characters! s-slaytor —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.137.80.110 (talk) 01:58, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- The main characters have their own pages, so that's quite appropriate :-) –Adrian Lozano (talk) 17:50, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Infoboxes
Why do only some of the characters have infoboxes? And why are the rest commented out? I'm going to put them back in; if anyone has any objections, feel free to revert me, but please provide an explanation as to why. --...Wikiwøw. 22:22, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know where the infoboxes came from, but I would say: go ahead and create them for the rest, if you're inclined. The images were meant to be commented out; if the infoboxes also are commented out, that was inadvertent on my part. Per discussion on related pages, please keep the images belonging to the movie, GC, separate from this article, which is about HDM. Best, Anthony Krupp (talk) 23:18, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, I just made restitution for blanking out infoboxes. Now all the supporting characters have one. Would you be up to creating boxes for the four main characters? I have to log off for a while now. Best, Anthony Krupp (talk) 23:25, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Parry vs. Grumman
Why, when his real name is john parry, do we call this section stanislaus grumman? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.150.175.194 (talk) 16:36, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Lyra Belacqua / Lyra Silvertongue
I removed the following sentence from the end of this section: "Unfortunately at the end of the final book, she fails to read the alethiometer and has to part with Will Parry(her lover and the bearer of the subtle knife) so that she can live in her own world and learn to read the alethiometer."
It seems POV, and it is inaccurate. Lyra is not forced to part from Will due to her inability to read the alethiometer; they have to separate because individuals cannot survive for long out of their own worlds, and all of the portals opened by the subtle knife must be closed in order to prevent the loss of Dust.

[edit] God Being an Angel
Please reply in this section only if you are not a Christian.
In the novel The Amber Spyglass of the series His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, God, the Authority, is false, fake, and fraud, not really God or a god, but is actually an angel. Could it be possible that God is false, fake, and fraud, not really God or a god, but is actually an angel, in reality, in the real world, in real life?
When the story His Dark Materials said that God is not really God or a god but is actually an angel, it meant and was talking about the Christian god. But Christianity is just one of the many different religions that exist in the world today. There are so many different religions in the world today. There are some people who claim and believe that Allah, the god of Islam, is false, fake, and fraud, not really God or a god but is actually an angel. Did you know that? See section 29 in page 20 of the article (spam link removed).

- Very interesting, Bowei Huang, but unfortunately this is not a place for the discussion about the existence of God in the real world. Please read WP:TPG for more details. -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 11:12, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Where is it written?
Sorry for not having an account, but I'm Hungarian, I don't write articles here. I just want to ask something: "He (the Authority) had a son called Jesus Christ, born on Earth in 5 BC from the virgin Mary, wife of Joseph, and a dæmon in the form of a dove called the Holy Spirit. He, his son, and his dæmon together formed what was called the Trinity."
Where is it written in the books? I found it nowhere. I'm waiting for your answer. Daderth —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.98.130.149 (talk) 17:07, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
