speculation

I seriously doubt that he was a spartan I due to his excessive talkive music likes. Spartan would have been extremely discplined which he isan't. However theres a chance that he may have been a candiate for the program but wasnt accepted. He talks like a marine in the game early cinema parts. ~~agentheart 2.25.07

The theory is that he is a Spartan I, not a Spartan II like Master Chief. The Spartan I program allegedly produced somewhat less powerful super-soldiers which were also less disciplined. Medevilenemy 01:50, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
but then if the story about his Boren's Syndrome is false, how'd he resist the flood infection? (24.205.190.225 00:25, 3 September 2007 (UTC))
It's likely that the Boren's Syndrome is real, which was a result of whatever training he would have underwent as a Spartan-I. What's fake is the story about how he got Boren's, i.e. the Paris "spoof." Son Goharotto (talk) 21:33, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

No spartan yet has ever had an attempted flood infection. MC almost had one, but it was stopped, so we won't know if its just him or all Spartans that can't get infected. Also I just noticed something that probably a lot of people have noticed, but anyone notice that BS can stand for both Boren's syndrome and Bull shit? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.69.48 (talk) 00:10, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Johnsons escape from Alpha Halo

Idk how but if you think some about it then you could start 2 speculate that... The Arbiter was the elite that he hugged at the end of Halo: CE. Because when they meet up in the library Johnson makes a remark that makes you think that they have met once before. I forgot what it was since it has been a while since I have played Halo 2.

The arbiter definitely wasn't the elite he hugged at the end of Halo CE because that elite wore light blue armor... while the arbiter first appeared in Halo 2 in gold armor... because he was the highest ranking elite at Halo... Dan Guan 22:44, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, the Supreme commander wore gold in Halo 2, but thats actually odd, because in the Graphic novel he wore purple, and field commanders also wear gold in The Flood. Also, the thing about them knowing each other might be revealed in the next halo book, because it will reveal a lot about him, and it's also a prequel. Also you'd think the elite he hugged would remember, and no way in hell was there any time to escape that close to the explosion. Plus the third book tells you how he got away, so no, it's non-canon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.69.48 (talk) 01:38, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

I changed the article's encyclopedic-ness so I'm removing that tag now. Dan Guan 17:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Johnson & Apone

It's obvious that the character Sergeant Johnson is heavily influenced by Sergeant Apone from the movie Aliens. Should that be noted in the article under the trivia section? 65.95.137.96 03:23, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

I agree. I find that halo has many simularities to aliens (the marine armour from halo CE, the marine additudes, the vehicles and the fact that they are both fighting aliens of somesort. Also The flood has simularities to aliens. They both require a "host" for reproduction and have many forms to achieve this. I.E, the flood carriers are like those squid-to-face things from aliens)
I don't however see a need to mention the resemblece... unless many other people agree with this...

I think it needs including, he is pretty clearly based upon Apone. As for the alien references. There is a board with messages on the first level of Halo mentioning a missing cat. The cats name is the name of Ripleys cat.

speaches to wikiquote?

Johnson's Age

Within the halo universe, most marine staff spend a considerable amount of time in cryo sleep while traveling, this would result in many soldiers being much older chronologically than they actually are biologically. That would explain his apparent age, not to mention the fact that this is the future, so people would live longer in the first place.Brokenscope 14:06, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

This is confirmed in Contact Harvest, and I have added such information into the proper section with a citation to the page of the book where this is mentioned. - Fearless Son 03:11, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Johnson survived the blast?

After Halo was destroyed Cortana scanned the surrounding area, and claimed there was "nothing... just dust and echoes". So how did Johnson make it out? While the easter egg at the end and Johnson dying during play aren't considered canon, how can this be explained?

It was explained in First Strike.--60 Delta 02:05, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
And what was the explanation? I'd really like to know.
You could just read the book's article, or the book itself.--60 Delta 21:54, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Johnson escaped in a Pelican with a few other survivors. Aware that there are Covenant ships still patrolling the area, the Pelican landed on one of the bits of debries of the Halo ring and shut down its primary systems to try and avoid detection until the threat passed. This is why Cortana did not detect it, it was specifically attempting to avoid detection. When the Master Chief's Longsword came under persuit, the Pelican abandoned its chance to hide and came to its aid, thus leading to Johnson and the Master Chief becoming reunited (though the Chief was initially distrustful since he understandably believed that Johnson was overrun by the Flood.) - Fearless Son 03:15, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, that's really helped.

The image appears to have been replaced by one from Halo 3, thus this issue has become moot. - Fearless Son 03:16, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
