[edit] Glenn and Guile ¿Not related with Chrono Trigger?

I think that noone can say that Guile is not related with Magus and Glenn is not related with Frog. "Guile's japanese name is Alf, shortened most likely for Magus's cat,Alfador" extracted from a Forum. Why the designers decided made characters that can be very similar to Chrono Trigger's Glenn or Magus? I don't think that the designers wanted confuse the gamers; Obviously Chrono Cross Glenn is related with Chrono Trigger's Glenn, but noone know in what form or sense, We have to wait another Chrono game to know a little bit about the relationship between Guile and Magus, and Glenn and Glenn. What do you think?

Actually I don't think the Glenns are related... at first I wondered, but looking at their personalities, I'd say they are two different characters with the same name... I wonder if they were different in the Japanese and a poor translation made them the same. 4.225.230.167 04:39, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Actually, Guile was supposed to be Magus, but because there were so many characters in the game they had to cut it out because it would have been too hard to introduce him to all of the characters. Also note that in Radical Dreamers Magus' gave himself the name Magil, and the "gil" is pronounced like "Guile." As for Glenn and Frog, I don't think there are any blood relations, but I do think that the Masamune and Einlanzer stories somehow relate them.

[edit] Image frames

Some images have a little frame around them, with a little caption. Other images don't. Shouldn't be better if all followed the same style?

[edit] Repeated sections

Why are there repeated sections here and in Chrono Cross? -- ReyBrujo 22:18, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Doc

I don't know how to edit it, but Doc's initiate color is BLUE not WHITE. Someone want to change this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.63.95.20 (talk • contribs) .

I've had a thorough look and Doc was right to begin with. He is innate white. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.130.170.128 (talk • contribs) .

In my game, Doc's innate was red. The strategy guide says blue. Perhaps there's something weird here? hillthekhore

Im sorry to "defer" but in my game (as well as "tips and tricks" magazine september 2001 issue), doc's innate color is white, just like this article says.

[edit] Guile

If anyone's still checking this page, let me know what you think. The article claims that Guile has no double in the alternate world, but I'm not entirely convinced that's the case. Sneff, the magician from Home World recognizes Guile as a promising entrant in magic guild. Since Sneff is from Home World and Guile is from Another World, this would imply that Sneff knows of Guile's double. Taken from the complete game script: [1]

Sneff: This can't be...! Are you the rising star off the Magic Guild, Guile...!? What are you doing in a place like this!? Iff you're looking ffor work, I've got some great connections! Guile: Hmph... I have no interest in simple hand tricks... I seek only enigma beyond human perception...

Ergo, (home world) Sneff knows of (alternate world) guile, so it seems likely that he's simply a character in both worlds.--BigCow 17:58, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Looks like someone added some junk to the page, then... --Zeality 18:14, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Janice is not black innate

I once played chronocross before and i have finished the game at least 15 times. If my memory serves me right, janice (the rabbit girl) was a red-inate elemental charater. however, i request the one who wrote the section on janice to move it because i do not know how to move her picture as well. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Carlo alvares (talk • contribs) 07:46, 18 April 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Merging various articles

Oppose This page should only contain brief descriptions of all the playable characters. The major characters have more story development and a lot more information that should be mentioned, and including it all here would disrupt the balance in this page as you'd have a few big sections (seemingly randomly) interspersed between a lot of small ones. -- VederJuda 18:11, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Merge per the same arguments presented at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Final Fantasy#Character page clarify. Kariteh 19:09, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Oppose There is enough information in each to warrant separate articles. 4.225.230.167 04:42, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

And you are? Kariteh 07:14, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Support—have these characters been in multiple games? Are sources available regarding how they were created and how they were received by the public or critics? Merchandise? If not, then all that information belongs in one area - this article. — Deckiller 07:39, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Serge, Kid and Lynx actually do appear in another game, Radical Dreamers (although they're alternate versions, not the same characters of the same continuity), but the information about that is very short and could easily fit in this article. In fact, the Serge and the Lynx sections already mention what there is to mention about Radical Dreamers. For sources on their creations and merchandise, there is a few information available (I've put two stub sections), and that information either encompasses all 4 main characters (Serge, Kid, Lynx, Harle) or all playable characters. So yeah the information would be definitely better presented here than repeated here and in the 4 separate articles. Kariteh 08:11, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Time period problems

This game takes place 20 years after the events of Chrono Cross (1999 AD). Glenn's description says he has been around since 1020 AD. Does that mean that he is 1000 years old at the start of CC? Funny, his bio says 20... Darth Zantetsuken (Grovel/Beg/Praise) 20:41, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

20 years after the events of Chrono Trigger, which primarily was set in 1000 A.D. Zeality 21:22, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Miguel and Dario

I'm pretty sure they should both be mentioned. Dario is just an optional boss but Miguel should have his own bio as he is part of the overall story and explains how the Dead Sea came about.

Yes, please add them. Kariteh 10:33, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I've added a section on Miguel --Chaosbladeuk 20:08, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Chaosbladeuk

[edit] Discussion section

I never touched the article itself, I kept all my comments in the discussion section. I simply stated, with the game's plot as my source, that Janus and Schala were not genetically related for one, and second, that clues are left in Chrono Cross that Serge is actually Magus. It is not technically incest because for it to be incest they would have to be genetically related. Schala is Queen Zeal's daughter, but Janus was adopted. If you talk to all the characters in the first game you can see this and I really fail to see how my comment was vandalism. I never interfered with the article itself. I do not need to source something fans of this game can find out for themselves simply by playing the games which they can download from one of varios emulation sites. Play the game again; Chrono Trigger, within the game's storyline, it is explicitly stated that Janus and Schala are not at all related. No one really knows what happened to Magu's parents. Also, incest? Where on earth did that come from? At no point in either of the games were there ever ANY suggestive themes.

[edit] Reception section

This article could use a section on the critical reception to the characters. - A Link to the Past (talk) 07:35, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
