[edit] Inaccuracy
The 'glocal chaos quotient' (sic) paragraph is inaccurate. Chaotic spells become EASIER to cast as the environment becomes Chaotic, but Lawful spells do NOT become harder to cast. The reverse is also true, Lawful spells are easier to cast in a Lawful environment, but Chaos spells are not harder. Djbrianuk 02:12, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Well, then be bold and change it. :-) — Frecklefoot | Talk 14:04, Apr 18, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hints and Tips
I feel the Hints and Tips section is largely pointless and non-encyclopedic. Would anyone object if I removed it? Pak21 10:38, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
- I agree, it doesn't add anything and can be removed.--Batneil 10:55, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
- Expand it, or merge it into the existing sections. The article would be worse off without the information. My 2p. Zerbey 20:39, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
- Policy includes the statement that "Wikipedia articles should not include instruction - advice (legal, medical, or otherwise), suggestions, or contain "how-to"s. This includes tutorials, walk-throughs, instruction manuals, and recipes." "Hints and Tips" would seem to me to be covered by that; hence I still think the information should be removed. Pak21 10:16, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
Possibly some of it could be incorporated as trivia? Zagrebo 09:40, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Conversions
I note that Atari ST is listed under platforms. Wasn't this an unofficial conversion? There are definietly unofficial conversions for the Amiga and Gameboy Advance too. How should these be incorporated? Possibly another section about unofficial conversions? Zagrebo 12:41, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] External links
Unfortunately the external link list of remakes is getting a little long. I'm maintaining a list of remakes here, which I can edit slightly to maintain neutral point of view. To this article we could add a statement like "Chaos is a popular choice for remakes." and reference it to the above. This has the advantage of tidying up this Wikipedia article, but the downside is my link is to another Wiki, which are usually deemed 'not reliable' by WP:EL. Marasmusine 08:25, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Vague statement
"...however this only affects their combat ability, rather than their tactical ability."
What do you actually mean, here? SharkD 17:13, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- It will mean that selecting a higher level of play increases the computer-controlled wizards' Attack and Defense stats, but doesn't improve their AI. I will modifiy the text. Marasmusine 07:00, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Removed section
I took out the following section, as without a reference it is considered original research. Marasmusine 07:10, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
To clarify: This section was added by User:194.222.112.145 [1]
[edit] Missing spells
The following spells are not available in the game, but their names can be seen with a hex editor.
- Troll — a creature spell. This can be activated by changing a few bytes of memory.
- Blind
- Tempest
- Teleport — this spell turned up in the sequel, Lords of Chaos.
- Dead Revenge
- Consecration
- Dispel
- Counter Spell
- Magic Sleep
This section was added by User:68.238.108.61 [2]
Troll, Tempest, Teleport, Dead Revenge, Consecrate, and Sleep were implemented in the Amiga remake, Total Chaos.
I removed the section as it was only supported by a reference from a usenet post. (Although it does show that I'm not the only one who thinks that Total Chaos is a remake.) Marasmusine 09:10, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Chaos back.JPG
Image:Chaos back.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
