[edit] Chantelle on German BB

Nowhere in this article does in mention about Chantelle's time on the German version of Big Brother, that should be added to the relevant place.

This article needs a good clean-up with genuine information. When her biography comes out can we use that as a source for the clean-up? Magnoliapaint 17:30, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] BBC hits rock bottom?

"The BBC have confirmed that Chantelle will star in the drama, Hotel Babylon as the girlfriend of Chris Moyles.". The BBC seem to be looking at popularity over substance! They'll follow ITV past the point of no return .......

[edit] Vandalism

(cur) (last) 10:19, 27 May 2006 Hontogaichiban (RVT edits by vandal. This is at least the second time.) there was no vandalism just added facts and quotes. why do you keep changing it back?

I'm sorry, maybe you're new. The problem is that the material you are adding is uncited - you must state which reliable source it originated from. The material looks on the surface to be insulting to the individual on this page, it could also be libellous, potentially causing a problem for Wikipedia. Also when adding to talk pages please put in a section at the bottom of the page like this. Many thanks!--Hontogaichiban 14:39, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Just to clarify do i need to link all inpt? just the flow is affected.

You need to link all input that might be controversal or POV (point of view/not fact) so certainly you should cite where you found out she was a d-list celebrity - and the citation can't just be to a particular individuals point of view. You could say here in the discussion section where the information comes from. Hope this helps.--Hontogaichiban 01:53, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

thanks for the help. :0)

[edit] Deletion

Does she really meet the standards of WP:BIO? J•A•K 14:03, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

Plenty of other Big Brother housemates have pages with even less information on them... Sweetie Petie 22:44, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

She is becoming famous- isn't that the whole point?

Shes a parody of the whole crass genre- Z list ex celebs desperately trying to boost their career. At least shes on the way up!

She's already more famous than half the other housemates :)

Shes the star of the whole thing! If the likes of Jade Goody and Jodie MArsh are "celebs" then she sure as hell qualifies! I think a career as tabloid fodder is in the offing.

If you want to air your views on whether this page should be deleted, the best place to do it is Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chantelle Houghton. --Whouk (talk) 12:30, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Well at last its been decided NOT to delete this page. Prehaps this will cool peoples temptation to blank the page! --Prof Jolly 17:24, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] First non-celebrity?

Do you really want to try and persuade me that Sylvester Stallone's mother is a celebrity? Actually this is just the first deliberately fake celebrity on a British "celebrity" "reality" show. As has been said more than once, "the cast is a veritable wh's that? of British entertainment..." - Just zis  Guy, you know? [T]/[C] AfD? 22:20, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

I'd heard of all of them except Traci Bingham, and she's not British. And I don't read Heat... --Whouk (talk) 07:08, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
Well I defy you to come up with a rock solid definition of 'celebrity'. But if we take it to be a 'famous person' then Jackie Collins counts. She's been on TV numerous times and once you've seen her you don't easily forget her. Bombot 10:22, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Jackie Collins is Sylvester Stallone's mother? Who knew? :) -- GWO
What's funny is that Chantelle was a page 3 girl and glamour model, so she actually has more claim to "celebrity" than some of the nonentities on these shows! The only notable difference is that she was asked to pretend to be a famous pop singer - if she had just been announced as "celebrity glamour model Chantelle Houghton", no-one would have batted an eyelid. I suppose that's all part of the joke. 217.34.39.123 13:37, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Both the images on this page have been labelled {{NoRightsReserved}} but no justifcation for this is shown on either image page. Better check this before they get scrubbed. HTH HAND —Phil | Talk 09:56, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Barrymore

The Celebrity Big Brother section originally said fellow housemate Michael Barrymore, when meeting her for the first time, said to her "Oh, I know who you are!" suggesting he was either lying or ingratiating himself to her. This wasn't quite the case however, so I have amended this point to reflect what actually happened. --Thoughtcat 13:22, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Chantelle Preston?

Now that she is married, I was wondering if anyone knows that she has changed her name to Chantelle Preston? Jamandell (d69) 16:43, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

That sounds really funny. Because he's known as Preston. Preston and Chantelle Preston :S -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:52, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
She was introduced today on BBLB as Chantelle Preston. MRSCTalk 16:38, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
I know it may "sound" funny, but this is her official name as is mentioned in most of the tabloid papers. I'm with you on this one Jamandell (d69)! Timclare (talk) (sign here) 02:31, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Should this be reverted as they're approaching their divorce being finalised? - ǀ Mikay ǀ 13:46, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of section

I removed the catchphrases section on the basis that they do not, I feel, meet the required standard to be classified as such. The phrases "Oh my God", "Wicked", and "Jesus Christ" are all pretty much standard phrases in the vocabulary of many under-30s in the UK.

With Chantelle having been on the television frequently and for such a long period of time, I'm sure many people have noticed that she uses those phrases a lot, but there's nothing truly distinctive about them. They can't really be described as unique or idiosyncratic 'catchphrases'. Unlike, say, Pete Bennett from the most recent series, whose frequent out-of-context utterance of the word "wankers" might perhaps fall into that category.

Thanks for explaining. But I don't think you can describe a tic as a "catchphrase". -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 19:46, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
"With Chantelle having been on the television frequently and for such a long period of time" - please tell me you are joking?! Chantelle was not on the television AT ALL before January 2006 (compare to Bruce Forsyth who has been on the television for more than 50 years). Chantelle was a Page 3 girl, though, so she is still more of a celebrity than most of the idiots on these "celebrity reality" shows... 217.155.20.163 03:05, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Remove quote

Was just listening to an interview with her on Simon Mayo, on 5Live. She denies making this statement, and attributes it to Michael Barrymore. I guess she should know, so I removed it. Dw290 14:17, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
