[edit] Ukrainian descent?

Is she actually of Ukrainian descent? Meursault2004 16:16, 13 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Two years later, I've finally found a source for this. In an interview with the "Celebrity Baby Blog" (http://www.celebrity-babies.com/2007/05/cbb_exclusive_c.html), Kreviazuk says she has Ukranian and Native Canadian roots. As this interview was linked from Kreviazuk's own MySpace blog (which I unfortunately cannot link for spam protection reasons, but should be located easily), I think we can safely say it is a reliable source, so I've added the info to the article. [edit] Jennifer Chantal?

Could anyone cite a source on the name Jennifer Chantal? I've never heard this before. Lunapuella 14:40, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

IMDB says "Chantal Thelma-Ramupriya Kreviazuk" for the birthname and then "Chantal L. Kreviazuk" in the mini-bio. http://imdb.com/name/nm0471092/bio hub 13:44, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Birthyear

Was Chantal born in 1973 or 1974? Hotwine8 03:03, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

IMDB says 1974 which does not make this the reliable information. hub 13:45, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New photo

As the current picture is considered a replaceable fair use picture and will be deleted soon, we need a new one, and a free one. The easiest way of getting one would be a photo of her performing on stage or a candid picture, that the photographer has released into the public domain. Any Wikipedians out there with a good picture? Lunapuella 09:46, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Appearances

Do we really need a list of these? It's not very encyclopedic information, and it makes the article look messy. The Career section could use a rewrite too, it's very fragmentary. If no one objects to this, I'd like to rewrite it, maybe make different sections for Kreviazuk's own albums, her soundtrack work and songwriting efforts for other artists. Lunapuella 15:12, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Since no one responded in the three months since I posted that, I went ahead and removed the Appearances and give the entire article a big overhaul. I hope no one objects to this. Lunapuella 19:26, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

How do I replace the existing 'dummy' photo that is currently on this page? When I try to upload a file I'm told that I need to be an autoconfirmed user. I have a few photos of Chantal in concert that I wouldn't mind contributing to this page. tezster (talk) 17:25, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pronunciation

As far as I can tell, her name is pronounced /ʃɑːntɑːl ˌkrɛviˈɑːtsək/ (shahn-tahl krev-ee-AH-tsək), though I've also heard the last syllable of her surname pronounced -zək, -tsʌk and -zʌk. Does anyone have a definitive source for her name's pronunciation? A video clip with Kreviazuk pronouncing her own name would be ideal. --Muchness (talk) 04:31, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
