Talk:Chang (surname)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is a proposal to create a precedent that names are not encyclopedic. Articles about names regularly show up on various deletion pages and are summarily deleted. Perhaps - since you've been working on an article about a name, you hold a different opinion that you'd like to express. [edit] Sorting out
Some thoughts on this article, which now seems likely to be kept:
- Let's put a list of people known in English by the name "Chang" (whichever one) in Chang, at the bottom.
- Should we make this page a disambiguation page for the different surnames spelled "Chang"? (If so, why not merge it into Chang?)
- Should articles/sections on specific surnames be put here, when/if created? If so, which ones should go here and which should be filed under Jang or Zhang? -- Visviva 12:52, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
- Any surnames using the character 張 should be in Zhang (surname), ideally. Pinyin is more authoritive than Wade-Giles.
- Should articles/sections on specific surnames be put here, when/if created? If so, which ones should go here and which should be filed under Jang or Zhang? -- Visviva 12:52, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
