[edit] kohen roshi

In case your wondering how we know that the Rebbe told chaim gutnick he will be a Kohen roshi, it is recorded on video, which a myself have seen. I don't know if it's an appropriate source, which is my I did not include it in the actual articel.

The video would be an appropriate source, but it's not terribly notable, is it? I've removed it Zsero 07:11, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rewrite

I've mostly rewritten this. I've provided some sources, but a lot of what I wrote is from personal knowledge, and it would be nice to have some sources. In particular, I found the quote from the Previous Rebbe's telegram on a blog, but it didn't give a source; if this is printed somewhere (in the Igros, maybe?) and someone can find it and add the reference, that would be appreciated. A source for his birth town would be nice, since Dei'ah Vedibbur incorrectly claimed that he was born in Chevron. If anyone knows in what year his father moved to Eretz Yisroel, please add it. And the article needs more details about his chaplaincy; the passing mention in Safe Haven was the only source I could find on the web.

Also, the ref tags aren't always in the most appropriate places. I looked for the original of the AJN obit, instead of the copy at Shmais, but the AJN seems to have started archiving its articles in 2006; the problem with the Shmais copy is that the headline is inaccurate -- Dan Goldberg certainly knew that Rabbi Gutnick was not "Chief Rabbi of Victoria", and the AJN did not give the obit that title. Shmais added the title himself, as he often does. Zsero 07:11, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
