[edit] Name?

I have the release title as "Chac: Dios de la lluvia" per the IMDB listing, but I see a number of variations on that. Does anyone have more detailed or definitive info? -- Infrogmation 17:37, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

I guess the IMDB title should be fine. I'd personally not heard of this film (have you seen it?) I wonder also whether and how to place the article somewhere in the overall Mesoamerican category scheme, any ideas? Maybe somewhere along the way it could be useful to somehow group together notable contemporary-culture references and depictions of Mesoamerica (a discriminating selection, mind); but it would be a low-priority item.--cjllw | TALK 05:56, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I saw it twice back in the 1970s. I just heard it was out on dvd; a friend is going to try to get it from Netflix so I can see it again. While the film is a work of fiction it has rare extensive depiction of modern traditional Maya, so I 'd guess it has some relevence to a category which includes that. -- Infrogmation 15:13, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
OK. I've set up Cat:Mesoamerica in fiction for entries such as this one, so if you are aware of any more, pls add them to the cat (prob no need at this stage to further refine it by culture or whatever). I would say that even so we would only need to add the WP:MESO project banner to a select few of these articles, ie those particularly notable like this one and substantially concerning the field. Which is to say, I for one do not intend to go about tagging and monitoring every minor computer-game cruft entry with some passing resemblance to Mesoamerican culture, for starters... ;-) --cjllw | TALK 02:51, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Sounds like a good policy all around. Thanks, -- Infrogmation 16:43, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
