Chattaphong was born the youngest of six in his family. He attended university and earned a master's degree in English, with hopes of becoming a professor. He got into acting at the suggestion of a friend who said extras were needed for the thriller film, 999-9999. He portrayed a Ferrari driver. He then decided he would like to try Muay Thai. He was already trained in Jiujitsu, reaching a 6th degree black belt. But his parents and family thought he should take up Muay Thai professionally for discipline and cultural reasons.
