Chaska Middle School East is one of the two middle schools in District 112. It serves grades 6-8 and organizes students in each grade into different "families", simulating a smaller school size. It serves approximately 800 students.

Currently, the Sixth Grade families are: Watermelon Wombats, Green Gators, and Black Bears; Seventh Grade: Golden Gophers and Purple Eagles; Eighth Grade: Pink Panthers and Teal Timberwolves
