Charlotte Reather

Charlotte Reather (born June 10, 1981) is an English comedy writer and performer. Educated at Cheltenham Ladies’ College she went on to study English Literature at Kingston University.

She first burst onto the scene producing comedy events at the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts) featuring well-known performers such as Simon Munnery, Stewart Lee and Lee Mack.

Charlotte has written for Newsrevue, the renowned comedy troupe based in London. Some of her material appeared in NewsRevue’s 2005 Edinburgh Festival show which received 5 star reviews.

Charlotte gained much television experience after working on The Bill, Dispatches and Channel 4 News. In 2004, she took part in a ‘life-swap’ for ITV1’s reality series 'Poor Little Rich Girls'. She subsequently appeared on GMTV.

Charlotte hosted ‘society chatshow’ for www.chatshow.net and has interviewed Jilly Cooper, Stefanie Powers, Sharron Davies amongst others. She also co-presented the pilot ‘Result’ for Sky & Granada with Sacha Baron-Cohen aka Ali G & Borat. Charlotte can be seen on the US network WE: Women's Entertainment presenting the 'How to Marry a Prince' later this year.

Charlotte is a regular features writer for The Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, Sunday Express & PQ International. She has also written for Woman & Home, Tatler and The Field (magazine).

Charlotte co-wrote and starred in the GUM!GUM! sketches featuring National Youth Theatre contemporaries Beth Winslet (Scold’s Bridal) and Marc Elliot (History Boys). The pilot was directed by Robert Llewellyn (Red Dwarf / Scrapheap Challenge)

She currently has several sitcom projects and a sketch show in development. Her mentor is the legendary comedy writer Maurice Gran (The New Statesman / Birds of a Feather / Goodnight Sweetheart).

Charlotte lives in the Cotswolds. She plays polo. Charlotte is represented by Laura Rourke at Independent Talent Group formerly ICM (International Creative Management).
