Charlotte La-Rose is a Canadian athlete in soccer, basketball and track & field. Charlotte attended Burlington Central High School from 1981-1985 and was a member of the basketball, soccer and track & field teams. She was named BCHS Athlete of the Year in 1983-1984 and again in 1984-1985 when she shared the award with Carol Alcock.
In basketball, Charlotte helped lead the Trojans to back to back Halton Championships during the 1983 and 1984 seasons. During the 1984 season they captured the Peel-Halton Championship and eventually finished fifth at the All-Ontario (OFSAA) Championship. Charlotte was twice selected to the Halton West All-Star Basketball Team and in 1985 was named MVP of the Halton Classic All-Star Basketball Game.
On the soccer pitch, Charlotte was the leading goal scorer for the Trojans. She helped lead the team to Halton titles in 1982, 1984 & 1985. The girls went on to win back to back Peel-Halton Championships in 1984 & 1985. In 1984, the Trojans placed fourth at OFSAA and improved to a 3rd place finish in 1985.
In the spring season, Charlotte continued her success as a high school track star. She won 10 Halton Championship medals: all of them gold in the 100m & 200m from 1981 through 1985. In 1985 she set a Halton record in the 100m with a time of 12.00 (wind assisted).
Charlotte success continued beyond Halton region by winning 20 Peel-Halton/South Regional medals, 11 of them gold. In 1985, she placed 1st in the 100m & 200m at the South Regional Championship and was named senior girls Athlete of the Meet.
From 1981 through 1983 Charlotte competed at the Provincial level of competition in track placing 4th in both the 100m & 200m sprints. In 1984 and 1985 the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Soccer and Track & Field Championships where scheduled for the same weekend, making it impossible for Charlotte to make all soccer games and also run in her sprints.
Charlotte attended the University of Windsor where she competed in track and field. Charlotte was a member of the 1991 & 1992 University of Windsor Women’s OUAA Provincial Championship Team that later went on to win the 1992 CIAU National Championship.
Charlotte now resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA with her husband Andrew Bett a Burlington Central Alumni and their 6 year old son Dillin. She keeps busy by coaching her son's soccer team and playing in recreational leagues for soccer and ice hockey.
