Charline "Charlie" Labonté (born October 15, 1982 in Boisbriand, Quebec) is a women's ice hockey player.
She was one of two goaltenders playing for the Canadian women's hockey team in the 2006 Turin olympics. She currently plays for the McGill Martlets in the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport). Prior to this she played for the Montreal Axion of the National Women's Hockey League.
She currently lives in Montreal, and is studying Physical Education at McGill University.
Before the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Charline was considered to be the team's second-string goalie. However, she between the pipes for the gold medal final, from which it is possible to conclude that she is now a first-string caliber goalie.
She was also one of the few women ever to start a CHL game. She did this while playing for Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. She made 28 saves to lead her team to a 7-4 victory.
2007 Women's IIHF Hockey Championship---- Charline Labonte was awarded the hard working hat for her efforts during the game verse the united states in which she stopped all 3 shots during the shoot outs to beat the U.S. 5-4.
