Charlie Hall Chase
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Charlie Hall Chase is a Grade 2 National Hunt steeplechase for five-year-old and above horses. It is run over a distance of 3 miles 1 furlong (5,029 metres) at Wetherby Racecourse in late October or early November. There are eighteen fences to be jumped in the race.
It is the first significant three mile steeplechase of the season and often sees the reappearance of horses who will contest the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Grand National later in the season.
Prior to 1992 the race was run over 3 miles 100 yards and between 1992 and 1995 it was run over 3 miles 110 yards.
