Charles de Gaulle University - Lille III

The Charles de Gaulle University - Lille III (Université Charles-de-Gaulle - Université Lille III) is a French university.

University of Lille III inherits from the humanities taught for centuries in Lille area and referred to as the humanities from Université de Douai, established in 1562 and located 25 km away from the present modern campus. Since 1970, sciences and technologies are taught in an independent campus of Université de Lille I - USTL, while law, management, sports and health faculties are part of the independent campus of Université de Lille II. Altogether, the universities of Lille include more than 90,000 students and are the core parts of the European Doctoral College Lille Nord-Pas de Calais that includes 3,000 PhD Doctorate students supported by university research laboratories.

Since 1974, the main campus of University of Lille III in located in southern Lille at Pont de Bois - Villeneuve d'Ascq, and includes 21,000 students.
